Is the glass held in by a rubber gasket / grommet type or does it use butyl tape? If gasket, did you get a new gasket with the glass? If butyl, did you get the butyl with the glass?

It is held in with a gasket. A new gasket will come with the glass.

Thanks John I'll be call'n ya. So far there is only pealed paint surface rust under the molding. I'll clean, rust stop it but not sure on what to do about paint. I'll probably paint the car in the future but not in this year. I think I sould put something on it before the new glass goes in.

When you paint the car the glass should come out again. This time you would need to just do something temporary though. Maybe some rustoleum, POR-15 or something from Eastwood.

My worthless opinion:

Do it ONCE,do it RIGHT.

AFTER the final paint.
